• About Dreams

We all dream, even those people who say they never do.

These messages from our unconscious contain a wealth of information.
Because dreams speak in a language of symbols and feelings, it’s an art to learn and comprehend this language.
Dreams always occur within the framework of reference of the dreamer. What you dreamt last night is about what goes in your life at this moment.
But some of your dreams from long ago, you will always remember. They’re imprinted onyour memory as if etched in stone.
This website offers an overview of the opportunities to learn how to analyse your own dreams.

    A dream

This is an exceptional spiritual dream that I had when I was 19 years old.

    Looking for my Grandmother

I’m walking over the Rotterdam cemetery, ‘Zuiderbegraafplaats’, in search of my grandmother’s grave.
While searching amongst the high privet hedges, I feel lost in the narrow lanes, which all seem similar.
As I walk along the gravel paths, it seems I’ve been walking for hours and it feels like I’m in a maze.
I see a large dark man with a rake. He’s a maintenance man and he’s working. I approach him with the question: “Do you know where my grandmother’s grave is?”
He nods and shows me the way. I still have to walk through a number of lanes. Right, left and then right again.
It seems like a big puzzle but finally I find the grave. As I sink to my knees in relief, I’m crying.
It feels like coming home and when I wake up, I’m still crying.

This is a dream I had three times in one week, exactly the same every time.
Back then I wasn’t so involved in dreams and their meanings, and was quite confused by this dream that kept coming back.
I thought it was quite scary at the time and decided to consult my GP for help. The doctor put me on medication (!) in order for me to sleep better.
What he should have done, was to advise me to go to the cemetery and visit the grave of my grandmother.

A few weeks later I shared this story with my mother. To my surprise, she told me that my aunt had recently received a notice that the grave of their
mother (my grandma) was so old, that it would be cleared along with some others.* This was because the time they bought the space for was limited and would now be barred.
For me this news made it clear that my grandmother had visited me in my dream.
I had not been to her grave in years, and she was letting me know that, since her final resting place was to be removed, not to forget her.

    * In The Netherlands it’s very common that you only buy burial rights for a certain amount of time. Due to lack of space in this overpopulated country and the high prices.
